Four AIR regional language channels added for Live Streaming

NEW DELHI: Four regional language channels have been added by All India Radio for live streaming on its website.

With the addition of these channels, the Indian diaspora residing outside the country will be able to enjoy programmes originating in India.

The four new channels are available in Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Malayalam.The pubcaster has already been live streaming FM Gold, FM Rainbow and FM Urdu of Delhi station.

Recently, with the launch of Vividh Bharati Mumbai on FM Frequency, the channel was added to the list and is available via live streaming. All India Radio plans to upgrade its regional channels and make them available through live streaming.

There are similar plans for other national channels like Indraprasatha and Rajdhani. With this step, the Public Service Broadcaster is expecting there to be an increase in the number of listeners and hopes to generate interest among the Gen X through this ambitious project.
