Ghostly International artists contribute to new game soundtrack

MUMBAI: Various new up and coming electronic DJs and musicians from Ghostly International Records have come together to contribute to the soundtrack of a new video game Hohokum. This contribution aims to provide a fully realised exhibition of contemporary electronic sounds that mirrors the game's eclectic and detailed landscape. The game has been created by artist Richard Hogg and London game studio Honeyslug.

The music of Hohokum mirrors the game's eclectic and detailed landscape, with a wide selection of Ghostly International's own artistes contributing their songs. Artistes such as Tycho, Shigeto, Matthew Dear, Com Truise, KILN and Michnaare are among the acts who have contributed to the soundtrack. The soundtrack will be released as 22-song digital compilation on 12 August and as a rainbow-coloured 12"vinyl sampler on 28 October.

According to the release, in the game, players take on the role of a flying being reminiscent of a kite. Travelling through the colourful world, players can uncover secrets by interacting with elements around them in different ways-such as carrying characters to new areas on their back or flying over objects to illuminate them. While there are goals, secrets, and trophies discovered along the way, at its heart, Hohokum is a playground where one can wander about and get lost in.

The soundtrack also features a collaboration between Christopher Willits and legendary Japanese pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto, which you will hear in the trailer for Hohokum, which releases on 12 August.
