Coldplay dedicates 'Fix You' to Mick Jagger at New York City concert

MUMBAI: At a recent Coldplay concert, frontman Chris Martin showed his support to veteran rocker Mick Jagger in a very difficult time. Before the British rock band could play what is arguably their most famous track 'Fix You', Martin told the crowd that it was dedicated to Jagger. He also called the track a "song for recovering".

Last week, Jagger held a memorial for his longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott in New York, where he sang a cover of Bob Dylan's 'Just Like a Woman' in her memory. Scott, a former model and well known fashion designer was found dead in her home after she committed suicide in March.

The band was performing at New York City's Beacon Theatre and played a number of their hit tracks including 'Viva la Vida', 'Speed of Sound', 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall' and 'Clocks'. They also played a few tracks from their upcoming album 'Ghost Stories', which is scheduled to release later this month on the 19th. Coldplay closed the show with 'True Love', a new track from their upcoming album which has not been released yet.

However, Martin asked concert goers not to record the performance and post it online. He said, "This is the best song off our new album that no one has ever heard yet. Sometimes you have to keep these things to yourself."

'Ghost Stories' is Coldplay's sixth studio album and the first since their 2011 release 'Mylo Xyloto'. They have so far released three tracks from the album- 'Magic', 'Midnight' and 'A Sky Full of Stars', which they also performed at the concert.
