Jonita Gandhi speaks about her song in 'Kochadaiiyaan'

MUMBAI: Jonita Gandhi has garnered a lot of applause for her recent track 'Kaha Hu Main’, from the movie 'Highway’, and has once again teamed up with the Mozart of Madras- AR Rahman, for the animated film 'Kochadaiiyan’.

Gandhi has lent her vocals to the song 'Dil Chaspiya’. The music of the album has already been released on iTunes and is dubbed in Tamil and Telugu, which is sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam and Sadhna Sargam. Talking about the track to Radioandmusic.com, Gandhi said, "I had dubbed for 'Dil Chaspiya’ even before I recorded for Highway, so technically it was the first time I worked with Rahman sir." Reminiscing her experience working with the Grammy winner, she said, "It was obviously a nerve wrecking experience, is all I can say. No words can actually narrate my feelings.

Since Rahman sir knew that I could sing in an Indo Western style, he made me sing the track in various tunes, but eventually zeroed down on the Indian version."

AR Rahman, recently in an interview, mentioned that Jonita Gandhi has a long way to go, to which she gushed, "I really did not expect him to mention me in the interview and I do feel honoured that he trusts me so much."

Jonita Gandhi will be travelling for a series of concerts with Akash Gandhi to Toronto and other parts of America. "Apart from the concerts, I also have to work on my independent music, which is one of the other reasons for travelling back home," she concluded.
