RDB's Daddy Da Cash goes live 11.12.13

MUMBAI: UK based band RDB (Rhythm Dhol Bass) are all set to release their latest single Daddy Da Cash on 11.12.13 at midnight on their official YouTube page. The Punjabi track features American singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor T-Pain. Part of their fourth studio album Worldwide, the song is a dance floor jam with heavy bass and a massive cross-over collaboration.

Lead vocalist and producer for RDB, Manjeet Ral, told Radioandmusic.com about his experience collaborating with T-Pain. "The collaboration kicked-off on a very good note. We have worked with Snoop Dog and Ludacris and they have been great collaborators, but T-Pain was definitely a pioneer in kicking off on a good start. We had a good relationship from the beginning because he loved the song. We gave him the beats and he did his own lyrics and vocals, and sent them back to us. He was extremely happy because the beat was very much his style. Having a Grammy award winner like T-Pain do a song with us is a huge thing. He has been very helpful and is very eager to come to India and wishes to be more involved in the Indian music scene. When we got him for the MTV music awards, he really enjoyed himself and loved the culture," he said.

The track was conceptialised about 3 years ago and was meant to be a gimmick. The idea was based on people, all across the world, from wealthy families who like to spend their father's cash on parties and live a full and fun life. "The song was my older brother Kuly paaji's idea from about 3 years ago," Manjeet explained, "Now is the right time for us to come back into the game and show that we are still here and still making music."

Speaking about the fun they had while shooting the video, Manjeet mentioned a rather funny instance. "The funniest moment was when we told T-Pain that we would introduce him in the video coming out of a Rolls Royce and say your lines, making a big entrance. When he saw the Rolls Royce on set, he actually turned around and said, "Listen guys, I don't want to come out of this car because I actually own six of them. I would rather come in a Rickshaw." And then we had him come in a Rickshaw with the car parked there behind," he laughed.

The band recently did a track called Tamanche Pe Disco for the film Bullet Raja, starring Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. Worldwide will be their fourth studio album which promises to have a lot of collaborations with known names in the Bollywood music industry.
