Music Competition for Peace

MUMBAI: Local artistes from all over the world will be given a chance to make their presence felt globally through the first ever 'My Music MasterPeace' competition. The platform will offer one lucky winner the chance to open the MasterPeace Concert that is set to take place in Istanbul, while being accompanied by the famous Metropole Orchestra.

The concert will be held on 21 September next year, which is also the UN's International Day of Peace and will not charge an entry fee, offering an added advantage to artistes.

'My Music MasterPeace' will be divided into various phases. In the first phase, participants will have to submit as many original peace-related songs as they want by 28 February 2014. In the second phase accepted entries will be confirmed via email by 31 March 2014. The third stage will include public voting and will see the top 20 entries with the highest votes selected to proceed to the final stage. These 20 individual artists or bands will be informed through email by 30 April 2014. In the last phase, judges will score the 20 finalists and select the winner of the My Music MasterPeace competition.

Judging the show will be MTV World SVP and GM Nusrat Durrani, Kraftbox Entertainment (fr. President of Fox Music) CEO Robert Kraft, Sirius Radio host and iconic MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown, Radioandmusic.com founder Anil Wanvari and Dutch-Turkish singer and songwriter Karsu.

The concert will be part of a 24 hour non-stop broadcast, and include speeches and performances held in 60 countries from over 100 locations, and will reach out to millions all over the globe.

"The competition is aligned with the MasterPeace vision of mobilising people across the world to use their talents in music and arts to foster awareness and dialogue for peace building," said MasterPeace co-founder and CEO Mohamed Helmy.
