Ankit Tiwari: I compose music with a lot of emotions

MUMBAI: The year has started off on a positive note for singer-composer Ankit Tiwari, as he bagged his first award this season. Tiwari walked away with a Global Indian Musical Award (GiMA) for his track 'Sun Raha Hai Na Tu' from the film Aashiqui 2.

When asked about how it feels to win the Best Debut award, he described his feeling to Radioandmusic.com's Dhairya Ingle saying, "It is obviously great to sweep away awards and accolades. It is a special feeling when you are appreciated with an award. And it is an encouragement for budding artistes. This is one of the many ways that the industry is accepting you."

He further unfolds his greatest achievement by saying, "My greatest award is my music fans. It is an achievement when people approach me to get photographed or to sign an autograph. I make sure that even if I am in my car I get out and pose for a picture or sign an autograph."

When asked about the secret behind his magical compositions, he explains that his heart is the backbone of the music he composes. "I compose music with a lot of emotions," he further adds.

His music influence is his mother who is a devotional singer and has always had a great impact on his compositions. "Mom used to sing while she was pregnant with me. So I obviously picked up few things from her," jested the lad from Kanpur. Coming from a musical background his parent obviously understood his musical interests and allowed him to pursue his dreams.

When asked to pick his favourite music composers and singers he said, "All of them are just amazing. You cannot afford to pick one name out of the talented bunch of people who have struggled so hard to make it big in life."

His next project will be composing music for the movie 'The Villain'.
