MUMBAI: Today, Planet Radio city's #MySongForMyBoss was trending after it announced to its Twitter followers to dedicate a track to their boss. Within a couple of hours, there were more than 3500 tweets and the hashtag was one of the top ten trends in Mumbai.

The humorous contest had asked its followers to tweet using the hashtag, and the individual with the most tweets would be given a voucher for Myntra (online shopping sites).

This is not the first time the online radio station has held a Twitter contest. In past, #ThisIsMyFreedom also trended on the occasion of Independence Day. Radio City Freedom launched a song by Luke Kenny and Enkore, for which there was a contest to support the release.

Participants had to tweet what the expression of Freedom really meant to them. The hashtag was among the top ten trending topics in India, and was even trending the following day.

When PlanetRadiocity.com launched its first regional web radio station called Radio City Tamil to draw awareness to this new web radio station, a Twitter contest was launched on the same day starting from 11:00am – 6:00pm. The contest trended at number one in India and number 14 in the world. #RadioCityTamil was the hashtag used. The contest received 3,000+ responses.

On the occasion of Radio City Freedom's first anniversary on 3 July 2013, it played a series called ‘Best of Radio City Freedom' on the indie radio station. To promote this, it created the #FreedomTurns1, which trended for an entire day.
