More than just music at Bacardi NH7 Weekender

MUMBAI: For fans travelling to Bacardi NH7 Weekender, the most exciting prospect is undoubtedly watching scores of musicians perform over various stages, in settings that are as relaxing as they are friendly and happy. At the Pune edition of the happiest music festival this year, exciting international headliners such as Chase & Status (DJ Set), Textures and Simian Mobile Disco will play alongside some of the most popular acts from the country, as well as fresh, upcoming indie talent. But at Bacardi NH7 Weekender, the entertainment is never restricted to the music. Some of the other exciting things to look forward to this year are the Bazaar, a range of food stalls, intriguing and mesmerising art, décor and visuals, and after parties.

Every year, Bacardi NH7 Weekender plays host to a number of stalls offering various products and services at the Bazaar. This year,attendees at the festival can browse through stalls offering a variety of clothes, accessories, custom-made holiday packages and products for daily use, among other things. For instance, for those looking for easy travel solutions, there's Ant On The Globe, a designer travel company that offers you tailor-made holiday packages. If clothes and accessories is where your interest lies, the festival Bazaar will have over 15 stalls to browse through, including That Thou Art, Mai Mai and Dryad, whose products are inspired by nature; Contraband Clothing and Go Yolo, which widely draw from popular culture; and Blur, The House of Bling and Neha's Creation, which primarily offer a range of jewellery and fashion accessories. For the more adventure-inclined, there's Monkie Gears, which stocks some of the most interesting adventure sports gear available, including electric skateboards, drift skates, Skyrunners, Wheelmans, tents and haversacks. Paper products and other such knick-knacks always make for great presents and collectibles, and stalls such as The Rummage, Palaash,Advitya, AfterTaste, Re-birth and What's In A Name? will offer a range of these.

Spending an entire day at the festival venue, trooping from stage to stage to watch your favourite acts is bound to induce hunger, and the food stalls at Bacardi NH7 Weekender have been designed to ensure those burger, yogurt or cupcake cravings are satisfied. Among the quick, on-the-go food options are burgers at the Woodside Burger Shop, wraps and salads at Olive Bistro, various bacon delicacies at#Makinbacon, shawarmas at Marrakesh, wraps at Faaso's and sandwiches at Tien and The Sandwich Shop. For a more extensive meal, the options are plenty as well, including Crumbs to Gourmet with creations such as aubergine folds with coconut bacon, the multi-cuisine11th East Street Cafe, Tim Luck Luck with parathas and butter chicken, German grub at Flambos, delicious Arabian fare at Cafe Arabia and gourmet options with Silverspoon Gourmet. But if you're the sort that would rather just sample a variety of desserts and call it a meal, you'd best head in the direction of Yum Crumb for cupcakes, Yogos for frozen yogurt, Icing On Top for an assortment of delectable desserts, orCafe Chokolade for their molten chocolate shake.

The Bacardi Arena will have a retro feel to it and has been designed by Bombay Duck Designs. Décor for The Dewarists stage will draw from The Dewarists show and inspiring journeys, and has been designed by Shilo Shiv Suleman. The Eristoff Wolves Den will centre around the theme 'Bring On The Night', with design by Vaibhavi Kowshik. The Breezer Dub Station will use graffiti as an art-form for design and has been designed by Hanif Kureshi, aka Daku, and team, while the MTS Other Stage will have a camping theme, with design by Shilo Shiv Suleman.

Art and décor

Décor for The Dewarists stage will draw from journeys and maps; plotting the journey of the musicians who have featured on the different seasons of the show and has been designed by Shilo Shiv Suleman. The Eristoff Wolves Den is extremely visual centric, and the entire stage is designed to support those visuals and create a strong audio-visual experience for the audience with design by Vaibhavi Kowshik. The Breezer Dub Station will use cellophane graffiti as an art-form for design and has been designed by Daku and team, while the MTS Other Stage uses hand-made chalkboard art, with design by Shilo Shiv Suleman.

Visuals

A great deal of attention is being given to visuals and visual projections at the stages at Bacardi NH7 Weekender this year. One visual artist each will work on the Bacardi Arena, The Dewarists, Breezer Dub Station and Eristoff Wolves Den to ensure a multi sensory experience. Delhi-based visual artist and independent filmmaker DJ Santana will take over the Bacardi Arena; Mumbai-based duo Wolves take over both Breezer Dub and Eristoff Wolves Den; and Activ8media, a visual consultancy firm, will showcase exciting graphics and customized animation at The Dewarists.A great deal of attention is being given to visuals and visual projections at the stages at Bacardi NH7 Weekender this year. This year, after the festival winds down at 10 pm, the party continues as Bacardi NH7 Weekender hosts official after parties at Mix@36at The Westin. Each night, from the 18th - 20th October, the best of the festival will play at Mix@36 from 10 pm onwards, with sweet deals on entry for festival wristband holders.

Tickets are priced at Rs 500 per night, available online till 3 pm and at the box office till 10 pm every day. Tickets are also available at the after party venue, for Rs 1000 for people with festival wristbands. Club rules apply for people with no wristbands, and entry is Rs 1500. Entry only; no cover included.

Season tickets for Pune are priced at Rs. 3000 for the NH7 Community (those people who have previously attended the festival and/or Invasion and A Summer’s Day or who are registered on NH7.in or NH7 Secret Service). Tickets for Under 21 festival goers are priced at Rs. 1750 for the season pass. For all other festival goers, season tickets are priced at Rs. 3750.
