Youth entertainment channel UFX has three shows in pipeline

MUMBAI: In order to cater to the youth of South India, the entertainment channel, UFX has been planning something special for the weekend. Keeping innovation in mind, UFX will come up with three programs out of which a couple of them will be launched in October or November.

Out of the three programs, one would be a reality show. The Technology based show ‘Tech-In’ is a half an hour show and will be hosted by multiple VJ’s. It will include six and half minute review of new gadgets that include mobile-phones, tablets, and games consoles and so on by the product users. “To get connected with the product users the channel has partnered with many vendors. The strength of the show will be this connection with the common man and celebrity. As we have some celebrity who is happy to talk about the products they use and that will be the key driver of the show,” says UFX creative head Shiran Mather.

The other show in pipeline or say is in production phase is ‘On-ground’ that is again a youth based show. This show will travel to top ten colleges in South India spread across cities like Cochin, Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapura and so on. This second segment will talk about achievers and alumini (from all walks of life) from the top colleges, management, curriculum, extra-curricular activities and many more unknown facts about the colleges. “We have already discussed about the show with many colleges and the response was very positive. We are already associated with these colleges for our existing show and we have developed a rapport with them,” explains Mather to Radioandmusic.com. The show will be aired on Friday and Saturday. The repeat telecast of the same will be aired on Sunday.

Currently, UFX is planning the reality show that will travel to five cities. “We will launch the show once we have our R&D in place. But we have realised that many IT professionals who are working in the night are interested in some activity in the day-time so they consider this as an option. This is something very interesting that we discovered,” adds Mather. He further adds that all their programs are created in a way that they run parallel with the films as in the end films attract more audiences.

“We are in talks with many sponsors for the programs. But, we have many things planned for next year. We are just waiting for next financial year to start then there is new budget in place,” concludes Mather.
