Mohit Chauhan left fuming backstage at DMW

MUMBAI: Bollywood Night at the Dubai Music Week seemed to have rocked the city of skyscrapers, with bigwigs from the Bollywood music scene like Benny Dayal, Harshdeep Kaur and Faran Akhtar put on some super performances leaving the audiences cheering. However, there was one person in particular who was left less than impressed with the night’s events.

'Nadaan Parindey’ singer Mohit Chauhan was left twiddling his thumbs backstage while other performers got their act on.The singer was upset with the organisers since he had to wait for almost five hours in the green room for his performance.

He chose trending social networking platforms like facebook and twitter to exhibit his frustration. On his official Facebook page, the former Silk Route frontman posted, “Back from a disappointing Dubai visit. Wish the organisers in Dubai had planned their act better. First, was made to wait for three hours to do a sound check and then was told that since the show had started late, there was no time left for my performance. The organisers, am told, didn't even inform the audience why I wasn't performing. This, when I was waiting in the green room for five hours to go on stage. Dubai, am sorry I couldn't sing for you guys. And I promise to come back soon with a full fledged concert.”

It seems to be a rather unfortunate incident, considering the singer was excited to be performing at the event. “How are you doing today Dubai? Ready for a concert tonight? Let's rock it!!!” he posted on his Facebook page earlier in the day. Let’s hope the ‘Masakali’ vocalist gets the chance to wow his Dubai fans with a concert, the way he plans.

A lot of celebs these days, pot for social media for voicing their opinions. You might recollect Nikhil Chinapa’s official announcement of his separation from Percept media, who together conceptualized the brainchild that is Sunburn, on his Facebook page as well.
