After a series of hits like Rockstar, Barfi and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, the Junior Kapoor reappears on the silver screen all set to cast a spell on the audiences with his killer looks and stunning acting skills with the film Besharam. Abhinav Kashyap will obviously bring in his directorial experience into the movie and with Lalit Pandit who did wonders with Munni Badnaam, is roped in for composing music for the film.

Title Track Besharam:

The title track Besharam kicks off with melodies of techno mix and breaks into a dance number. The song is fun. All thanks to Himanshu Kishan Mehra who penned the lyrics of the song. With lyrics like Paidaa Nangaa Hua To Kaahe Ki Sharam adds flavour and suits the genre of the film. Vocals of Shree D brings adds the breath of fresh air and heavy Punjabi voice makes the song a dance number.

Tere Mohalle:

The song is penned by Nikhat Khan and the song attempts create with a tinge of ‘qawwali’. The vocals are rendered by Mamta Sharma. Remember her? She is the same who sang for Munni Badnaam. For a change she is singing for a lead actress and not an item girl and does a good job with Aishwarya Nigam.

Love Ki Ghanti:

The energy of the song takes you back in the era of 50’s and attempts to recreate the magic of Kishore Kumar right in the beginning. The song has a conversational appeal and lyrics have been penned by Ranjeev Barnwal. He had been a lyricts for the film Satrangi Parachute which was released in the year 2011. Sujeet Shetty’s vocals suit Ranbir Kapoor with Amitosh Nagpal also chipping in. Superstar Rabir Kapoor also has his share of dialogues in the song.

Tu Hai:

This song is like nostalgia as the voices of Shreya Ghosal and Sonu Nigam take you back in the era of 90’s. The song is gives you, a soft romantic ‘Pehla Nasha’ feeling. The soothing song and the lyrics are penned by Nikhat Khan.

Aa Re Aa Re:

This song is raunchy number and is good for eve teasers since it reminds you of the tracks with Govinda. Mika and Shreya Ghoshalpack a punch in this dhinchak number penned by Rajeev Barnwal.
Dil ka Haal

The song takes you back to DDL days when you watch the video. Inspiration is the word that comes to our minds when you hear these songs. The track is quite similar to a couple of song-‘ Jo Haal Dil Ka’, ‘Sarfarosh’ and ‘Tera Mera Rishta’, Awarapan. Nothing impressive.

Chal Hand Uthake Naache

Chal hand uthake naache is yet another peppy Punjabi number with Pop King Daler Mehndi , Mika and Sunidhi Chauhan rendering vocals. Hats off to the composer, Lalit as he once again proved that time has not faded away his charm.

Majority of the tracks attempt to bring in the essence of 90’s and to an extent he has been successful. However it does not match up the expectations with a kind of high one was expecting. The songs are peppy but not engaging and one cannot get addicted to the numbers.
