Tupac's $ 45 million biopic to take off in 2014

MUMBAI: A biopic of slain West Coast rapper Tupac Shakur is in the works. Filming for the $ 45 million picture will begin in Atlanta in 2014.

Studios Morgan Creek Productions and Emmett/Furla Films, which announced the project on 18 September, said they are in final negotiations to partner on the production of "Tupac." The producers own the rights to Shakur's music catalog said the film will center on Shakur's life, but have not named the star or director of the film, report said.

The film will be executive produced by Shakur's mother, Afeni Shakur and a new script is currently being written by Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft. An earlier script explored Shakur's rise to stardom as a Hip-Hop icon, his imprisonment on sexual assault charges and the East Coast-West Coast rap feud.
