This
movie - Race has made a splash with its promo alone, and the music has created
a stir already. The best unconventional singers from the industry have come together
as vocalists for this album and the result is quite good, though not great. The
album opens with Race Saason ki sung by Neeraj and Sunidhi Chauhan. Neeraj's vocals
come as a surprise and for Sunidhi, I think she has set yet another benchmark
for herself. The song is a fast paced track with music that's simply trendy and
seems to be very much in sync with the whole image of the film. This song is sure
to top the charts very soon. |
| The next track
is titled Pehli Nazar Mein sung by Atif himself. This song shows Atif breaking
his traditional norms of singing and trying something more passion-filled when
it comes to vocals. The soft music in the background simply sets the ambience
of the song and makes anyone fall in love with the song. In the genre of romantic
songs, this sure is to top the list now! Dekho Nashe Mein starts off with
a typical Bollywood touch. Sung by KK, Shaan and Sunidhi; the song could have
been composed better. The song vaguely reminds me of Salaame from Dhoom - the
first. With some jazz and lot of hard beats, the song does feel in tune with the
Indian melody that almost every Bollywood film seems to have today. Pritam could
have done something more with such a song than this! Mujh Pe To Jadoo
- a song by Apache Indian, Taz (lead vocalist of Stereo Nation) and Sunidhi Chauhan
starts off really well. The expectations from the song f soar high after listening
to the start but leads to disappointment as the song progresses. Although the
music seems almost right and the vocalists sound appealing, but the song doesn't
stay on for long. The whole catch of the song, kind of, blows-up because of the
Hinglish lyrics. The next track titled Zara Zara Touch Me is a solo track
by Monali. It starts off with a very amateurish voice but then picks up gradually.
The song does set the mood. The subtle beats and little chorus in the background
help in setting the ambience further. The music of this song does sound a little
different but fails at holding on the interests of the listener. It is probably
composed for a niche segment of listeners. Race Is On My Mind starts of
with a very Don touch to the music. The track as a whole sounds like a replica
of Tata Young's Dhoom. The music nevertheless rocks and so does the vocals. This
will be one great track to look up to. The remixes of most of the songs
are by DJ Suketu and are good in their own ways. The album overall is a good pick
and will quite appeal the audiences especially after the release of the movie.
