The initiative has got the backing of Prasar Bharati, the I&B Ministry and the Indian Music Academy.

Musicians like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Sonu Nigam have contributed to this song. The song was conceptualized by Durga Jasraj and Vikram Shankar. Javed Akhtar has written the lyrics. Zakir Hussain has composed the music.

The video features famous personalities like Kapil Dev, Dhanraj Pillai, Bhaichung Bhutia and Rahul Dravid. In the video they express the joy of patriotism even through their diversity.

Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumarmangalam Birla says, “It is a privilege for us to be associated with an event on such a large scale. The song captures a new India which is full of high esteem and confidence. India can become a superpower but people need to collaborate from different fields. This is the underlying theme of the song. It is a clarion call to every Indian to come forth and move forward to prosperity and help in nation building.”

Idea Cellular is looking to launch in Mumbai within three months.

Idea Cellular MD Sanjeev Aga says, “About nine months ago we decided to come out with a song on an epic scale. We wanted this song to pay tribute to the nation. We also wanted to build awareness about solidarity, integrity and bring Indian culture closer to the youth. Idea has always believed in innovative and exciting approaches to connect with discerning customers and provide much more than just an unmatched mobile experience. Jai Hind is our little way of paying tribute to the nation. Prasar Bharati will carry our message to millions of Indians. They reach parts of the country where private channels do not have a strong foothold.”

Idea customers who call a number or who SMS DTD19814 will receive a ringtone of the song.
