Big Music to re-launch Plus Music albums

MUMBAI: Big Music, that has acquired the content of erstwhile music label Plus Music, plans to relaunch select titles under the Big banner.

The first in the series, Kaifiyat….a state of mind, a compilation of Urdu poetry by the late Kaifi Azmi was released on 9 May.

The album is a compilation of the best poems written by Azmi. The CD includes five more poems than the original CD. The music banner will re-launch Javed Akhtar's poetry compilation 'Tarkash' in a month.

 

Says Big Music CEO Kulmeet Makkar, "Plus Music has a good catalogue of devotional, kawwali, classical, film and non-film music. We plan to re-launch 15-20 albums of Plus Music in the coming two to three months. Big Music will re-launch only those albums which are in high demand from the audience."

Big Music acquired the rights of the Amit Khanna owned Plus Music over two years ago. Earlier, the rights of Plus Music were with Reliance Mobile, after the launch of Big Music the rights of re-launching those music albums is handed over to the music label.

Plus Music also known as Nupur audio, belonged to Khanna. Some of the scheduled re-launch titles includes-Tum yaad aaye, Papa kehte hai, Sardari begum, Subha, Saaz and others.
