MUMBAI: Singer Kailash Kher, who has worked with a variety of composers, domestic and international, is now working in collaboration with renowned DJ Paul Oakenfold on an album.

Says the sufi singer, “I have composed a song for the upcoming album by DJ Paul Oakenfold. I am the author and singer for the song and the Kailasa trio Kailash-Paresh-Naresh has composed music for the song.”

The album is slated to release in Januray 2009.

DJ Paul Oakenfold is known to have produced songs for pop artistes like Michael Jackson and Madonna in the past. The DJ is also planning to remix some of Kailash Kher’s own tracks including the popular “Teri Deewani”, after hearing which he contacted the Indian singer.

After composing for Hirdesh Kamble's Pranali, the Kailasa trio will now compose for Nikhil Advani’s ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ and Faruque Kabir's ‘Allah ke Bande’.

Kailash Kher is also composing for Shashant Singh's untitled forthcoming directorial venture staring Ranveer Shorey, Vinay Pathak and others. Says Kailash, "We are currently composing for this comedy flick, three songs have already been composed. The remaining two, written, composed and sung by Kailasa band, are being finalised. Although it is a comedy movie, the songs are heart touching and the songs represent different colours of life."
