After two successful workshops in 2009 on the appreciation of Sufi music and Qawwali, Ektara India invites applications for an advanced workshop on understanding the poetry and music of medieval poet-composers Amir Khusrau Dehlavi (1253-1325) and Bulleh Shah (1680-1757), to be held in New Delhi from 6th to 14th February 2010.

Basant Panchami, the 5th day of the month of Magh, heralds the onset of 'Rituraj Basant'. This season of four months brings forth a burst of new leaves and flowers, and the call of the kokila-a season of new life, birdsong and the riot of colours of Holi. Kumar Gandharva in 1971 composed a 'festival' of songs, both classical and folk, describing life in all its aspects in these four months.
