La Fanciulla del West by Giacomo Puccini An NCPA - The Metropolitan Opera (New York) Presentation Minnie is a lively girl who runs the Polka saloon frequently visited by miners. Rance, the sheriff, falls for Minnie, but she, in turn, falls for the bandit Ramerez. The people in the town want to capture Ramerez and hang him. An armed Minnie shows up just in time and reminds the miners of everything she does for them, hoping to get them to set him free.
