Namit Das + Anurag Shanker is a project that aims to revisit and revive the unsung glory of classic writing and light classical music from the subcontinent. Helmed by composer/vocalist Namit Das and producer/guitarist Anurag Shanker, the band also comprises of Ralph Menezes(bass) and Shivang Kapadia(drums). The sound traverses between the sonic planes of ambient jazz/rock, folk and contemporary alternative arrangements that lift up the core literary content presented in a light classical form. The new set ‘Riwayat’ is their latest and most up to date lineup consisting of creations by Faiz, Munir Niyazi, Khusrow, Shiv Kumar Batalvi and more.
