Creative unveils Zen X-Fi in Indian market

Creative has launched the Zen X- Fi digital media player in the Indian market. The player is designed with expandable storage via an SD card slot and an easy-to-use interface for those who don't want to work with a touch screen  The player is compatible with MP3, WMA, AAC audio formats and WMV, AVI, MJPEG, MPEG4-SP, DivX 4 and 5 and XviD video formats. It also has built in FM with 32 presets and a built in microphone for voice recording

Nokia N series handset rolled out in India

The new N series Nokia N96 was launched on 19 August in the Indian market. The mobile phone includes digital music features, digitalization and visualization, playlist editing and downloading songs as its music features. With an internal flash memory of 16 GB, the phone can store approximately upto 12,000 songs. It also supports a FM Radio and has a built in GPS receiver  The handset can play 40 hours of video. The phone supports MPEG-4 Part two, MPEG-10 Part ten, Windows Media Video (WMV 9) and RealVideo (QCIF) in video formats

Nokia introduces 3610 Fold

Nokia has introduced the 3610 Fold, a GSM model that is available in Blue, Red, Rose and Green and will be priced at $186. The phone includes a media player for audio and video, a 2.5 mm audio port, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and upto 4GB expandable microSD card. However, the 3610 Fold lacks the 6131's FM radio. The handset also supports GPRS/EDGE.

Haier unveils three new phones in Indian market

MUMBAI: Haier Mobile has announced the launch of new three GSM mobile phones termed Wow, Twin and Double. Wow features a colour FM phone with a FM on loudspeaker and a voice recorder. The loudspeaker claims to have stereo FM with good clarity. The phone has a memory of 500 contacts with three numbers for each contact, effectively making a storage capacity of 500 x 3. The cost of the phone has not yet been disclosed.

Sony introduces new Walkman MP3 player

MUMBAI: Sony has launched its latest range of Walkman MP3 players, the NWZ-B130F series. The NWZ-B130F series include features range from MP3 playback to voice and FM recording as well as FM radio listening. Available in 1GB and 2GB capacities, the 1GB model can hold approximately 650 songs and record around 43 hours of music, while the 2GB model can hold about 1,300 songs and record up to 88 hours of music.

Sony Ericsson unveils R300 in India

MUMBAI: Sony Ericsson has rolled out the new R series phone, R300 in the Indian market this month. Mainly targeted at developing countries, the handset features the FM/AM receivers and costs Rs 4,395. The other features of R300 include tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz for the R300i version and 850 / 1800 / 1900 MHz for the R300a version), a 1.8 inch display with 128 x 160 pixels and 65K colours, music player, TrackID, Bluetooth, Web and email capabilities, a VGA photo camera, image viewer, organizer, handsfree and stopwatch.

Nokia launches N 6210 in India

MUMBAI: Nokia has recently launched the N 6210 navigator in the Indian market. The phone features a music player which plays the usual audio formats, an FM stereo radio, and a media player capable of playing MP4, H.263, and H.264 videos. The WiFi factor is still mysteriously missing in the list of connectivity options but users should be able to make do with Bluetooth 2.0 and USB connections.

Dell's new gadget to take on the iPod

MUMBAI: Dell is set to launch a new MP3 player in the US market, a gadget that will directly compete with Apple iPod, says a report in The Wall Street Journal. The MP3 player will be packaged with an online download pattern similar to that of Apple's iPod, and will reportedly be available on shop shelves by September. The report says that Dell officials have been busy testing the digital music player that will have a small screen with basic button controls featuring a Wi-Fi connectivity to wireless download.
