Bruce Gillmer is MTV Intl senior VP talent, music

MUMBAI: MTV International has named Bruce Gillmer as senior VP talent and music. Hewill continue to be based in New York and oversee all international talent and music initiatives across the music broadcaster. The announcement was made by MTV International executive VP music brands Antonio Campo Dall'Orto to whom Gillmer reports. Prior to his appointment, Gillmer served as MTV US senior VP Music/Music programming.

Zubin Mehta brings Israel Philharmonic Orchestra to Mumbai

MUMBAI: The Mehli Mehta Music Foundation will mark his birth anniversary by presenting five concerts from 7 to 12 October with maestro Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The concerts will feature several other legendary artists like pianist Daniel Barenboim, tenor Placido Domingo, soprano Barbara Frittoli and violinist Pinchas Zukerman. Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will be playing for the third time in India.

American Idol runner up to act in Nick’s iCarly

MUMBAI: Trying his hands on acting, David Archuleta, American Idol's seventh season will appear in an episode of Nickelodeon's iCarly. The episode titled 'Rocked the Vote' will be aired in Spring. In the episode, Archuleta will play a contestant on a show similar to American Idol, called America Sings. Archuleta's character will receive a huge boost in votes after gaining the support of the iCarly blog. iCarly is a show about a high school girl who runs a video blog with her friends.
