'Bangistan' proves to be one of Ram SampathÆs best albums yet

Label: T-Series

Music Composer: Ram Sampath

Singer: Ram Sampath, Neeraj Sridhar, Aditi Singh Sharma, Benny Dayal, Abhishekh Nailwal, Siddharth Basrur

Lyricist: Puneet Krishna

After exhibiting his acting prowess in the film ‘Ek Villain’ actor Riteish Deshmukh will be sharing the screen with ‘Fukrey’ actor Pulkit Samrat in the film ‘Bangistan’. Directed by Karan Anshuman, and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the film is a comedy satire. The music of the film is composed by Ram Sampath, while lyrics for the songs are penned by Puneet Krishna. The album comprises six songs.

Hogi Kranti

The moment you hear ‘Hogi Kranti’, you can assume that it is a patriotic track. However, it turns out to be something completely different. The track is a remake of the old patriotic song, ‘Man Mein Hai Vishwas’, with revised lyrics. Since the film is a satire, the track is based on a man who wants to become a terrorist. However, the track, which is sung by Ram Sampat and Abhishek Nailwal, is hilarious and will have you listening to it again and again.

Meri Zidd

Crooned by Siddharth Basrur and Ram Sampath, the track ‘Meri Zidd’ starts off slowly and proceeds to become an upbeat rock number. The highlight of the track are the lyrics, which are catchy and of course the vocals. Basrur and Sampath do a great job on the rock vocals, which complement the intense rock music well. Overall, the track is a good listen.

Maula

This is probably the best song on the album for more than one reason; one is its lyrics, and the other is the singing capabilities of the reality show participant, Rituraj Mohanty. The lyrics are heart touching as it talks about how religion has divided humanity. Mohanty’s vocals for this Sufi number blend perfectly with the music, and it is the kind of song you can listen to on repeat.

Saturday Night

The peppy track is a party song and has elements of EDM. Sung by Aditi Singh Sharma, Benny Dayal, Neeraj Shridhar and Janusz Krucinski, the song will surely make you dance. The track is a typical Saturday night number, and before you listen to it, ensure you have got your dancing shoes on.

Ishq Karenge

‘Isha Karenge’ is a qawwali track with elements of rock. Sung by Sona Mohapatra, Abhishek Nailwal and Shadab Faridi, the track is an average sounding one. Somehow, it seems like a misfit on the album.

Is Duniya Se Ladna Hai

This is another really good track on the album. One of the main highlights of this track is the powerful, energetic vocals by Suraj Jagan and Abhishek Nailwal. Their voices can pretty much encourage listeners to fight against the world. Perhaps, the only disadvantage of this song is that it is rather short; less than three minutes. Within no time, the track gets over and you are left wanting for more.

Overall the album is good. Kudos to Sampath, who has composed all the tracks on the album very well; ‘Bangistan’ can easily be one of his best albums. The music on the album is crisp and though the songs are short, they create an impact.

‘Bangistan’ will release on31st July, 2015.
