Parineeti Chopra's debut track eccentric, yet endearing

MUMBAI: Like certain people, a few songs don’t fall in the likable category on the first play. They grow on you as you play them in a loop and this is exactly the kind of track ‘Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin’ from ‘Hamari Pyaari Bindu’ is.

First of all, this track is something that we had been waiting for a very long time, given the fact that actress Parineeti Chopra debuts as a singer with it. So, somewhere you tend to get judgemental, but keeping our high expectations and the growing media buzz around the song aside, we just looked at the song as any other new releases, only to be left amazed.

Parineeti sounds outstanding. She has the kind of depth and soul in her voice that most singers get after years of riyaz. Her little husky tone adds to the beauty of this longing for love kinda track.

The lyrics of the song can get a bit tricky initially as they do not rhyme like most of our recent Bollywood tracks, but Kausar Munir does complete justice to the feel of the track with his words. At times you do find you’re self-trying to figure out what are the words trying to convey, but when you get them, it’s just beautiful. It displays pure honesty in an eccentric way.

Getting a hold of the music by Sachin-Jigar and Munir’s words can take a few rewinds, but it’s worth it.

The music video is also a treat to the eyes as you watch Parineeti lip-sync to her own voice for the first time. Overall this is a track that all the one-sided lovers will play in a loop, thus adding to its YouTube numbers. Good job team YRF!
