Sony MIX's 'Raina Beeti Jaye: Jashn'- entertaining and enlightening

MUMBAI: We Indians are curious by nature and Sony MIX's latest offering 'Raina Beeti Jaye: Jashn' banks on this very Indian trait. In fact, it manages to satisfy the always eager-to-know-more audience with some filmy music knowledge.

The promo of the show that went on-air sometime back is a prime example of a listener who keeps getting half-baked information from various sources - be they co-workers, friends , and family. Unfortunately, in this process, one is left craving for more. If you are a true music lover, these local sources can even frustrate you with inaccurate information. ‘Raina Beeti Jaye: Jashn’ comes to the rescue of these music lovers. It also brings along truckloads of information that at the end of the day leave the viewer happy and with a story to narrate to their 'unbaked story providers'.

The best part about this show is that it does not just have a host giving out information like a newsreader. Instead, it has current singing sensation Akriti Kakar and singer-TV personality Sumeet Raghvan sharing the nuggets in a one to one fashion. The channel has used the radio technique. Radio is known to be a personal medium and listeners usually have a personal connect with the RJ, Kakar and Raghvan are trying to bring in something similar here. And we would say it's working!

The tales are gripping and relevant songs at short intervals too work well for an hour long show format. The creative team at MIX seems to have thought out the concept of the show well, for they do not try putting all the information related to an artiste in one episode. They spread it over the next episode if a particular artiste requires that kind of approach. Which, we think is wise indeed.

Furthermore, the songs that run during the episode have all the information that one would need. Details like movie name, label, song name, singer, lyricist, and music composer are provided through a helpful ticker running at the bottom of the screen.

Though cinematography does not have a major role to play in a studio set up, it has been kept creative.

Overall ‘Raina Beeti Jaye: Jashn’ is a wonderful initiative by Sony MIX and it definitely has all the elements that will keep viewers glued to TV screens.

Watch the show on Sony MIX every night at 10pm.
