Hit and misses make Azhar music a mixed bag

MUMBAI: Directed by Tony D'Souza, produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Sony Pictures Networks, Azhar is an upcoming sports themed film based on the life of Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Starring Emraan Hashmi, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai, the film is set for a worldwide release on 13 May 2016. The makers of the film released the album of the movie recently, and Radioandmusic.com had a quick listen.

Bol Do Na Zara

This was the first song released by the makers, which Radioandmusic.com reviewed here.

Song: Itni Si Baat Hain

Singers:  Arijit Singh, Antara Mitra

Guest Composer: Pritam

Lyrics: Manoj Yadav

Music Producer: Bhushan Kumar

Music Label: T-Series

The makers of 'Gerua' are back with 'Itni Si Baat Hain'. Pritam lends a guest composition for 'Itni Si Baat Hai'. Penned by Manoj Yadav, Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra beautifully sing the second romantic number of this film. It makes for a peaceful, pleasurable listen for the first time, but the melody does not really linger with you.

Song: Oye Oye

Singers: Aditi Singh Sharma, Armaan Malik

Original Music Composed By: Kalyan Ji and Anand Ji

Music Composed and Recreated By: Dj Chetas

Lyrics: Anand Bakshi

Music Label: T-Series

Kalyanji-Anandji's 1980s anthem 'Oye Oye' is resurrected by DJ Chetas. We think it will take listeners a while  to get accustomed to the new recreation. The chartbuster peppy track is delightfully sung by Aditi Singh Sharma and Armaan Malik this time, but there is nothing noticeable in the song. It is not as fun as the original number and it is actually skip -worthy.

Song: Tu Hi Na Jaane

Singers: Sonu Nigam, Prakriti Kakar

Music: Amaal Mallik

Lyrics: Kumaar

Music Label: T-Series

This is a slow paced track and one of the mellow numbers composed by Amaal Malik. When it comes to music arrangements, there is nothing striking in this track, though it has been sung well by Sonu Nigam and Prakriti Kakar. We don't make out why the lyricist had to keep the lyrics so monotonous.

Song: Jeetne Ke Liye

Singer: K K

Music: Amaal Mallik

Lyrics: Kumaar

Music Label: T-Series

This satisfactory number is almost like the theme song for this movie. Composed by Amaal Malik and penned by Kumaar and sung by KK, this rock ballad turns out pretty well. The musical arrangements of the track seem motivated from an assortment of songs. The song ends on a high note and KK has sung this song passionately. This number can really leave you feeling motivated.
