‘Kaalam Yen Kadhali’

Singer: Benny Dayal

Music: A.R. Rahman

Lyrics: Vairamuthu

Mixed by: Nitish Kumar

Mastered by: Suresh Permal

Lyric Designer: Satish Ramesh

Music Label: Eros Music

This is the first song of the album and it is definitely a treat for Rahman fans. It has all the elements which go with the revolutionary theme of the film. The audience will find it striking because Rahman has used loads of techno and EDM beats to the track. But, if you don’t like techno music, you might find it ear-splitting because of some powerful beats. Indeed, Benny Dayal’s energetic voice is a boon for this song. This song is a perfect number with some catchy lyrics too.

‘Naan Un’

Singers: Arijit Singh, Chinmayi Sripadha

Music: A.R. Rahman

Lyrics: Madan Karky

Music Label: Eros Music

This is the second soundtrack which is a really charming and tender romantic number. This love ballad is sung by Arijit Singh and Chinmayi Sripada, this song can be heart-rending for some. The song starts with a haunting guitar tune and moves into striking violin solos later on. Rahman’s masterful composition, Arijit’s brilliant voice combined with Chinmayi’s vocals will definitely give you goosebumps. According to us, this is one of the best songs of this album.

‘Mei Nigara’

Singers: Sid Sriram, Sanah Moidutty, Jonita Gandhi

Music: A.R. Rahman

Lyrics: Madan Karky

Music Label: Eros Music

This is also a love song, but compared to ‘Naan Un’, this track is more light-hearted and contemporary. The beginning of the song has a fine techno sounding chorus, harmonised by effortless drum beats. Sid Sriram’s and Sanah Moidutty’s melodic voice will overwhelm you. This is an engaging track along with a few ultra modern beats, constant clapping sounds with a few piano overtones here and there. On the whole, this is a good song, but not so amazing.

‘Punnagaye’

Singers: Haricharan Sesh, Shashaa Tirupati

Music: A.R. Rahman

Lyrics: Vairamuthu

This sounds like a rain song to us. The song starts with diminutive musical sound and tinkering which set a lovely vibe. Then it progresses with guitars and flutes. This melodious number is sung by Shaasha Tripathi and Haricharan Sesh vivaciously.

‘Aararoo’

Singer: Sakthishree Gopalan

Music: A.R. Rahman

Lyrics: Madan Karky

Music Label: Eros Music

The word ‘Aararoo’ means lullabies in Tamil. This soft and tender number is also a lullaby. In this song, a mother is singing to her child tenderly, trying to make the child sleep. A R Rahman has showed his brilliance on this particular track, as he keeps instruments to the minimal. However, Shakthisree Gopalan’s voice will definitely draw attention and the lyrics of the song that portray a mother’s unconditional love to her child is touching.

‘My Twin Brother’

Music: A.R. Rahman

Music Label: Eros Music

This is the last track of the album which starts with Sanskrit chants. The song progresses until it reaches a potent opera chorus line. This track is full of trumpets, untamed and mysterious energy; this is a stand out number of the whole album. However, there are no lyrics and this is basically an instrumental number
