David Guetta teams up with Afrojack, Charli XCX and French Montana for latest single 'Dirty Sexy Money'

MUMBAI: David Guetta has been busy. With already two summer hits under his belt, the French producer returns with his latest track Dirty Sexy Money, a collaboration with fellow producer Afrojack featuring vocals from British singer/songwriter Charli XCX and French Montana, which is out now on all digital service providers.

Having premiered Dirty Sexy Money during his set at Amsterdam Music Festival with a guest appearance of Afrojack, the track, co produced by Skrillex, has an energetic melody that is laced with high octane, punchy beats throughout the chorus. This contrasts with the pared back composition of the verses where it is Charli XCX’s vocals that take centre stage alongside a softer, more toned down sound.

Guetta has been spending a lot of time in Holland recently and it was during some free time between studio sessions in Amsterdam that a chance encounter with the work of Dutch Neo-Pop artist Selwyn Senatori led to the creation of the unique artwork for this track. Selwyn: ‘’David and I met through producer Giorgio Tuinfort. During ADE, I invited him to my studio, and the idea of cooperation arose because he was very impressed with what he saw there. I applied my contemporary art to Dirty Sexy Money and for this I consciously chose strong, clear shapes and a raw character. The result is a mix of pop, modern, retro and my own characteristic influences which goes perfectly with the mix of styles from David, Afrojack, Charli XCX and French Montana on the track.’’

His most recent single,2U alongside Justin Bieber, dominated and was without doubt Guetta’s biggest success of the year having amassed an impressive half billion streams, 500 thousand downloads and more than 300 million video views. The track peaked at number one on iTunes in 78 countries, number three on Spotify worldwide and acclaimed two times  platinum status in Norway and Sweden, Platinum status in Australia, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Brazil, Ireland, Finland, Denmark, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland and Gold in New Zealand, the UK, Belgium, Columbia, Germany and the US.

After rounding up his Vegas residencies, 2U also formed part of Guetta’s sets for his hugely popular summer residencies on Ibiza at Pacha and Ushuaïa. Both residencies are now classed as some of the most famous and in demand parties that the island has to offer, with tickets selling out well in advance every year.

Having just wrapped on another successful Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) that saw David take seventh place in the Top 100 DJ’s poll, perform to a capacity crowd at Amsterdam Music Festival and present Martin Garrix with the award for taking first place in the Top 100 DJ’s poll, 2018 is set to be as busy as ever. He recently announced a stadium tour for early in the New Year that will see him perform throughout Europe in Germany, Poland, Switzerland and France among others.
