MUMBAI: Amberay bursts back onto the musical radar as one of the most enigmatic emerging artists of 2017. Following on from her critically-acclaimed last release I Say Stop, the young artist drops her second, innately contagious track Woman Like a Fantasy. Again it’s the vibrant combination of an ethereal pop vocal to a blissful, upbeat and captivating instrumental courtesy of the equally mysterious Morsecode that excites here. It’s hard to believe that Amberay is just 14 years old.

Whereas her first release conjured a naturally precocious, innately cool style perhaps comparable to early Grimes, Woman Like a Fantsy reminds of early Shakira. Following excitingly experimental, leftfield influences such as Sneaker Pimps and Tricky for her first release, her new release again conjures the bubblegum pop of Robyn.

It’s the undeniably intriguing fashion in which Amberay continues to enter into the spotlight at such a young age with such quietly impressive, inventive, poised style that makes her such an exciting prospect. Amberay’s age is almost unbelievable; however, the music is again, equally as gloriously compelling.
