Makj and Max Styler combine forces for epic track 'Knock Me Down'

MUMBAI: Maybe it's the endless sunshine or the surf in San Luis Obispo, California that inspires great music, but one thing is for certain the cheerful, chill little town in California has a knack for breeding some very talented American producers of electronic music. The latest out of SLO is ‘Knock Me Down’, a massive track from Makj and Max Styler out on Steve Aoki's Dim Mak imprint.

‘Knock Me Down’ features standout vocals by Elayna Boynton; you may recognize her impressive pipes from her hit ‘Freedom’ on the ‘Django Unchained’ soundtrack, which has amassed over 20 million plays on YouTube to date. Boynton's voice is unique, powerful and soul-shaking; it serves as the emotional element to Makj and Max Styler's intense basslines, filled with stabbing beats and machine-like drops. The result is a track that feels energizing and inspiring-‘Knock Me Down’ is the perfect tune to play at the gym, before a competition, or anytime your psyche is in seriously need of a confidence boost.

Makj and Max Styler may be young in their careers, but both of these California natives have made massive steps forward in their short time in the electronic music scene. Max Styler exploded into the limelight with his first EP, ‘Aftershock’, which came out on Dim Mak in 2015 to rave reviews; the title track was chosen as a Sirius XM BPM ‘Breaker’.

2017 is shaping up to be a phenomenal year so far for Styler; his most recent release ‘Roller Coaster’ rose to number three on the Beatport charts during its first week. Makj uncovered a passion for mixing and DJing when he was old 15 years old, while he was a professional racecar driver living abroad in China. He quickly changed professions and never looked back to date, his remixes, original releases, and bootlegs have garnered him support from industry heavyweights like Hardwell, Tiesto, Sander Van Doorn and W&W.
