The Knocks present a new single 'Trouble'

MUMBAI: "We originally wrote ‘Trouble’ with Abso in NYC at our studio as a slow, piano ballad, at 90 bpm. The idea was to write something that felt melancholy and classic. After we laid down the original idea, he left and we started experimenting with it - treating it like a sample - totally chopping it up and flipping it. This is the same way we approach some of our earlier songs like ‘Dancing With The DJ’ and ‘Make it Better’ so it was cool to go back to that formula while making a sound that was new and fresh." – The Knocks

New York electronic duo The Knocks present their new single ‘Trouble’, featuring American producer Absofacto, out now via Big Beat. The upbeat track will feature on The Knocks’ upcoming Testify EP.

Blessed with Abosfacto’s dreamy vocal, ‘Trouble’ flaunts a bouncy disco-themed bassline and smooth piano melodies. The duo’s latest release is a strong display of their dynamic producing skills and is set to build on the success of their previous track, ‘HEAT’ featuring Sam Nelson Harris.

Consisting of Ben ‘B-Roc’ Ruttner and James ‘J-Patt’ Patterson, The Knocks have unleashed their disco-filled dance-pop sound to critical acclaim through their debut album, ‘55’. Released last year, ‘55’ features numerous star-studded collaborations including tracks with Carly Rae Jepsen, Wyclef Jean, Matthew Koma and X Ambassadors. The album has amassed over an incredible 61 million Spotify streams to date. Off the back of the album’s release, the New York pair were recruited by Justin Bieber to support the music heavyweight on the European leg of his Purpose Tour. B-Roc and J-Patt are set to embark on their own ‘Feel Good Feel Great’ headline tour this February.
