Wazir licenses 'Antrangi Yaari' from Farout Media's artist Rochak Kohli

MUMBAI: Composed by Farout Media’s artist Rochak Kohli, ‘Antrangi Yaari’ has found its way in the upcoming Bollywood Film ‘Wazir’, produced by Vidhu Vinodh Chopra and directed by Bijoy Nambiar. Rochak is the hitmaker behind songs like ‘Pani Da Rang’, ‘Saadi Galli’ and many more.

‘Antrangi Yaari’ is an interesting song sung by Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar, the actors known for their music prowess in the industry. It depicts the unusual friendship between their characters in ‘Wazir’.

The strategic placement of ‘Antrangi Yaari’ in the film is an interesting ongoing development of the Music Publishing Business in India and Farout Media is at the forefront of finding new and innovative ways in creating opportunities for Indie music in mainstream media, broadcast and films.

Commenting on this alliance, Farout Media co-founder and CEO Anurag Rao says, “Antrangi Yaari is an earthly, edgy track that was composed by Rochak Kohli for a television commercial. While we were looking for the right showcase platform for the song, our paths crossed with the team of ‘Wazir’ and we were convinced that a bigger platform like a Bollywood film would be an apt platform to release the song. The song is now licensed in the film and has received encouraging views from the starcast of the film, especially from Mr. Bachchan. This is big moment for us, Rochak and ‘Antrangi Yaari’.”

Rochak Kohli, Singer, Lyricist and Composer of ‘Antrangi Yaari’ says, “This is an great development for my song and I am very proud of being represented by Farout Media, a company that is helping provide artists and their independent works find bigger avenues to reach out. I am happy with the encouragement I received from Mr. Bachchan, Farhan and team. This is a true milestone for me.”

Explaining the origin of the song, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra shares, “I was searching for a song for ‘Wazir’ since the last six months. I had heard around 100 to 200 songs and had almost given up before I came across this song.”

Prior to ‘Atrangi Yaari’, Farout Media had early this year licensed the track ‘Mutant Macha’ to Star Movies for the Television premiere of X-Men: Days of the Future Past. The track was a collaborative effort between Farhan Akhtar, Vishal Dadlani and Chennai based band Skrat.

On cards for 2016 are more licensing deals involving independent artist.
