Vasuda Sharma releases her new minimal acoustic single - Aacha Hai

MUMBAI: After the notable success of her last release- 'Maula', singer/songwriter Vasuda Sharma has released the music video of her new single- 'Aacha Hai'. The music video, which has been launched by Culture Machine Digital Video Entertainment Company, features Sharma's vocals along with guitarist Jacob Drab and cellist Jake Charley.

Sharma told Radioandmusic.com that she had written the song two years ago. She also added that the development of the music video was slightly rushed because the video was shot two days before both, Drab and Charley, had to catch their flight back to the US. "There were two days left before they had to go back, so we were wondering what to do. I had this song that I had written, and Jacob and Jake liked it, and we started jamming. Jacob created the entire guitar arrangement for the song, while Jake worked on the cello," said Sharma. The next day the three of them recorded the guitar and cello parts at Wah Wah Studios in Bandra.

When asked if she is working on a full length studio album, Sharma said, "After my first album, 'Attuned Spirits', I learnt that producing a music album is an extremely tedious process." So, it is safe to assume that anticipation for Vasuda Sharma's sophomore studio album is a little far-fledged." However, Sharma did say that she is currently working with a few electronic dance music (EDM) producers on learning the software used to create EDM. Sharma also added that she hopes to release her first electronic-based EP by the end of the year.

When asked why she is moving from the folk sound that was evident in her debut album to electronic, she said, "I am still exploring my sound. Just because my first album was a folk fusion, I do not want to be labelled as a folk fusion musician. That is why I shifted to electronic."

After 'Aacha Hai', Sharma said her next original music video will be 'Barsan Laage Nain' which was featured in her first album. It is being produced and directed by Rolling Films.
