Shefali Alvares: I owe a lot to my dad

MUMBAI: Known for her peppy numbers like 'Badtameez Dil',  'Ek Main aur Ek Tu', Shefali Alvares will release her album early next year after working on it for a couple of years. For the same, the songstress has collaborated with Niranjan Dhar. However, the name of the album is yet to be decided.

"We are finally coming up with an album after two years of pondering. The album is more about me and my personal space. It is about expressing myself to the fullest," said Alvares. She has always maintained her stand about Bollywood not being her first priority. "My dad was never into Bollywood. He had always been an independent artiste, but when I commenced my career in Bollywood, my dad supported me. I owe a lot to my dad," she further explained.

She has recently crooned a number, 'G Phaad ke' for the film 'Happy Ending'. The music of the film is composed by Sachin-Jigar. "It was the first time that I worked with the duo and I had a great time working with Sachin-Jigar and Divya Kumar who is a very dear friend of mine. What got me even more excited was that the song was picturised on Govinda," she further elaborated.

Post marriage, the songstress resides in Satpura, near Bhopal with her husband and admits that travelling becomes a little difficult for her. "If I am gigging in three different cities; then it gets a little tiring but otherwise, I am pretty cool with it. I love staying here in this jungle and I have a few wild animals roaming around my lodge," she said.

Apart from singing and performing on stage, the singer also loves painting. "I paint a lot and I have inherited that art from my mother. Also, I help my husband in running the lodge and very often get involved with cooking, so I love my life," she concluded.
