Pharrell Williams' 'Star' added to Hollywood Walk of Fame

MUMBAI: After twenty long years in the music industry and seven Grammys under his belt, not to mention a number of hit tracks, Pharrell Williams has finally added one more accolade to his impressive career- a star on Hollywood Boulevard. The 'Happy' singer received the Hollywood Walk of Fame's 2537th star at a ceremony that was held in front of the famous Hollywood Hotel

Williams was introduced by talk show host and his close friend- Ellen DeGeneres who called him a "genius". "I have been lucky enough to know Pharrell since he was a nerd and he has grown into international superstar. His lyrics have inspired me and have gotten me through some tough times," she said.

The 41 year old singer and music producer, in his acceptance speech, thanked his family, friends, teachers and all those who he had worked with in his music career. "I feel so grateful for this honour. I could never properly explain what this means for me who had no idea what my love for music would ever take me. I just wanted the opportunity to create something that was good enough for people to hear on the radio. Music has been the skeleton key that has opened every door of my life," he added.

Joining Williams at the ceremony was his model wife Helen Lasichanh, their son- Rocket and Williams' mother, father and brother. The 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker also took the opportunity to promote his clothing brand- Billionaire Boys Club at the ceremony, sporting a funky, colourful jacket with a large print of the brand name on the back.
