Pharrell Williams, One Direction and Florence + The Machine to perform at Apple Music Festival

MUMBAI: Pharrell Williams, One Direction, Florence + The Machine and Disclosure will be headlining the Apple Music Festival 2015 which is to happen from 19- 28 September at London’s Roundhouse.

The performances will be aired to all the music fans around the world for no cost on Apple Music-live and on-demand. The fans can get the news from the backstage via the coverage on Beats 1, Apple’s live radio station.

Apple internet software and services SVP Eddy Cue said, “We wanted to do something really special for music fans this year. The Apple Music Festival is a greatest hits set of ten unbelievable nights featuring some of the best performers on the planet appearing live and interacting directly with their fans on Connect and Beats 1.”

“I am so grateful to be performing at the Apple Music Festival. The Roundhouse is such a historic venue. There’s always a special energy in the crowd. Thank you for having me,” said Williams.

“It will be great to be back in London and we cannot wait to perform for our fans in the Roundhouse and around the world on Apple Music! See you there!” said One Direction’s Niall Horan.

A ten-day festival, attracting over half a million fans and tens of millions more online and on-demand, is running a contest for UK residents to win tickets through Apple Music as well as through their media partners. Likes of Adele, Beck, Coldplay, Elton John, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Muse, Sir Paul McCartney have performed at Apple Music Festival in past.

The iTunes festival, which is now renamed to Apple Music Festival, has been in existence for about eight years. The festival has been renamed in honour of the launch of Apple Music.
