Pankaj Padghan and Amitraj speak on making music for 'Welcome Zindagi'

MUMBAI: The recent music launch of the upcoming Marathi film ‘Welcome Zindagi’ saw a mix of Marathi musicians, both, popular and new. Present at the event were music composers Amitraj and Pankaj Padghan, singers Jaideep Bagwadkar and Harshwardhan Wavare and lyricists Omkar Mangesh Dutt and Mandar Cholkar.

Amitraj, who composed the track ‘Jaguni Ghe Zara’ said, “Even though, I have only composed one song for the film, it is very special. The plot of the film itself is very interesting and inspiring. For the track, I have worked with Harsh Wavare, who has lent his vocals for lyrics written by Guru Thakur.” Meanwhile, talking about working with Amitraj, Wavere added, “I often work with Amit Sir and working on this film was truly an amazing experience.”

Pankaj Padghan, best known for composing music for hit Marathi films ‘Mitwa’ and ‘Classmates’ said, “My track ‘Life ka Funda’ is very upbeat and uplifting, and I wanted it to be that way. The film has a very good plot, one that inspires and challenges music composes.” For the track, Padghan worked with lyricist Omkar Dutt and vocalist Jaideep Bagwadkar.

The other two songs in the four-track soundtrack are the title track composed by Shamir Tandon, featuring vocals by Sonu Nigam with lyrics by Varun Likhate, and the track ‘Sune Sune’ written by Mandar Cholkar, sung by Mahalaxmi Iyer and composed by Shankar Mahadevan’s son Siddharth, and his nephew Soumil.

The music launch was inaugurated by prolific Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan, who is best known for films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ and ‘Deewaar’.

‘Welcome Zindagi’ is a dark comedy that revolves around a girl, played by Amruta Khanvilkar, who wants to end her life, and a boy, played by Swapnil Joshi, who will change her perception of life. The film will release on 26 June this year.
