Noel Gallagher thinks Liam should make a solo record

MUMBAI: After being at loggerheads for quite a while, former-Oasis guitarist- Noel Gallagher, has sort of shown faith in his ex-band mate and brother- Liam Gallagher, saying that maybe he should release a solo album.

The statement came after Liam decided to disband his group- Beady Eye, which was formed after the two brothers’ split from Oasis. "I’m amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won't stay out of the limelight for long. I think Liam should make a solo record -- put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it," Noel said in an interview with Q magazine.

The brothers have not had the easiest of relationships, especially since Noel quit the British rock band in August 2009. However, Noel, who is the older of the two, has showed sympathy towards the break-up of his brother’s band. "I'm very f***ing sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work. I wanted it to work for them," he added.

However, Noel has suggested that Beady Eye’s split was unexpected. "I was out with Gem Archer (ex guitarist for Beady Eye and Oasis) the other night. The vibe I'm getting is that it was a shock, although not completely surprising," he said.

Beady Eye was formed in 2009 by Liam, alongside former Oasis band members- Gem Archer, Chris Sharrock and Andy Bell, after Noel walked away from Oasis. The band released two albums- 'Different Gear, Still Speeding’ in 2011 and 'BE’ in 2013. Despite having some success (both albums reached the top five on the UK charts), Liam announced the band’s split in October 2014 via Twitter.

Noel, meanwhile, will be releasing his second album- 'Chasing Yesterday’, with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in March 2015.
