Neeti Mohan croons 'Sapna Jahan' for 'Brothers'

MUMBAI: ‘Nazar Laaye’ singer Neeti Mohan is on cloud nine as her latest track ‘Sapna Jahan’, from the film ‘Brothers’ is getting great responses. The singer’s social networking accounts are flooded with praises about the song, which is co-sung by Sonu Nigam. The music of the film is composed by duo Ajay Atul, and lyrics have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

“I have been an ardent fan of Ajay Atul's music, and when I got a call from them asking me to sing, I was really happy. This is the first time that I have worked with them. When I went to record the track, I did not know who would be singing the male vocals. I never ever thought that I will end up singing a duet with Sonu, or would get a chance to work with Ajay Atul,” said Mohan.

The track, which has already been released, is a romantic number, for which the vocals needed to resonate the feeling of unconditional love. “The brief was simple; think about one person who means the world to you and bring out those emotions in the song,” Mohan revealed. The singer also said that Ajay Atul, Karan Malhotra and Amitabh Bhattacharya were all present when the song was being recorded. She was completely impressed with Malhotra’s music sensibilities, especially the way he took interest in each and every line.

Mohan has also crooned two songs for one of the biggest films in Indian cinema, ‘Baahubali’, which was released recently. The music of the film is composed by MM Kreem, who she said working with was an incredible and a joyful experience. “The music by MM Kreem and Ajay Atul, gives you goose bumps. When you are work with them, you not only learn something valuable about music, but they actually bring out a new dimension to your personality, which makes you better in some way. For me the power of joy is the strongest as long as you enjoy what you do. And I would like to explore more,” she explained.

Mohan also revealed that before she can start recording, she does basic vocal warm up and keeps a blank mind as to the kind of song a composer has for her. Having worked with the likes of AR Rahman, Vishal Shekhar and Ajay Atul, Mohan also said that she would like to work with these music directors again.
