Maroon 5 to release fifth studio album 'V' this September

MUMBAI: American pop rock band Maroon 5 revealed that it has been signed to Interscope Records. The news which came via the band's official Facebook page, also announced that a new album will be released later this year. The forthcoming album, titled 'V' will be out on 2 September 2014.

In a statement, the band said that prior to the album there would also be a brand new single released this summer. The upcoming album, which is their fifth studio album, will see Maroon 5 reuniting with Jesse Carmichael, their long-time keyboardist. Carmichael was absent during the recording of the band's 2012 release 'Overexposed', which churned out hits like 'Payphone', 'One More Night' and 'Daylight'.

Maroon 5 has been recording the new album over the last one year in LA with a number of producers including Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Sam Martin, Shellback and Benny Blanco.

In addition to the new record deal, the Grammy Award winning band has also penned a worldwide tour deal with Live Nation. Tour dates are expected to be announced in the following weeks.

Meanwhile, the band's frontman- Adam Levine is currently serving as a coach on the NBC hit series 'The Voice', which is in its 6th season. The 35 year old will also soon be making his big screen debut in a John Carney directed film 'Begin Again'. The film also stars Keira Knightley and will be released on 27 June.
