Indeep Bakshi: Yo Yo Honey Singh has been a revolution

MUMBAI: Renowned for his song 'Saturday Saturday', rapper Indeep Bakshi has come up with a single called '36 Ayenge 36 Jayenge'. The song has been composed and written by him. The track, he says, was composed while he and his friends were fooling around in the studio.

"Once I was in the studio fooling around with a few friends of mine and I said, "36 Ayenge 36 Jayenge but meriwali meri mummy laynge. Then there was this friend of mine sitting over there who shot back saying 36 ayenge 36 jayenge, mere jaise toh teri ma bhi na dhund payenge. So this is how the song was made and we have included all the lines that we said to each other on that day," said Indeep Bakshi.

He recently crooned a soulful number 'Tere Liye' for the upcoming film 'Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend'. "I have always composed and sung peppy numbers. Singing soulful numbers is like a breakthrough for me. The song was there in my library for long time. I had given Bhushan Kumar a few songs from my library and he loved this one," he further explained.

When asked about slang terms he uses in his songs, he said, "My lyrics are very conversational, and I write them to cater to the youth and the way that youngsters talk today. I do not understand why people even abuse Yo Yo Honey Singh. For me he is a revolution as he made audiences accept the kind of songs he sings. Had Yo Yo not been around, maybe Indeep would not have existed either," he said.

The film 'Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend' is scheduled to hit theaters on 20th March, 2015.
