Former Miss World Sarah Jane Dias to release debut music video on 13 February

MUMBAI: Sarah Jane Dias, best known as the 2007 Femina Miss World, is going to release her debut music video called ‘Forgot to Be Me.’ The music video will be launched on Pepsi MTV Indies on 13 February. Dias said that she has quite a few songs under her belt, but this one is the first to have been turned into a music video. She went on to say that she wrote the song last year, between July and September, and the music video was shot in November.

"It was incredible of Sapna, Bani and Arunoday to come forth and feature in my first ever video. I am in the process of recording more songs, which will form an album and I feel very supported, having had the acceptance from some of the music industry’s biggest names like Ankur Tiwari, Vishal Dadlani, Sid Cuotto and Mikey McCleary," Sarah had earlier said in a statement. She also exclusively revealed to Radioandmusic.com details of her next single. "The next one might be a collaboration; perhaps with Sid Coutto and Mikey McCleary," said Dias.

The music video portraying heartbreak and hurt feelings of love was first premiered at LGBTQS Productions’ Dirty Talk 8.0 – Pride Edition on 23 January 2015. The music video features a same-sex couple, which perhaps justifies the video being premiered at Dirty Talk. When asked about her opinions on the same, Dias said, "I do it see it that way. I made a music video that portrayed heartbreak and love. I feel that LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) is not an issue, nor should it be perceived as one. If you call it an issue, you are banning one person from loving another person. It is silly."

The former ‘Channel V’ VJ further went on to narrate an incident she witnessed where, an abandoned girl kept crying and no policeman came to her rescue, but when two men were found kissing, the cops came in herds. "A relationship is the same, be it between a boy and a girl or a girl and a girl or a boy and a boy. It has the same ups and downs. It requires the same amount of attention," continued Dias.

Dias also said that ‘Forgot to Be Me’ will play exclusively on Pepsi MTV Indies and later YouTube. The track will not be available for free download. Along with the music video premiere, Dias is also actively working on a campaign aimed towards Valentine’s Day, encouraging people who choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day on their own with the hashtag, ‘#UnValentinesDay’.
