MUMBAI: After a fruitful 2014 in the awards department, music trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy, has for the third time, teamed up with Zoya Akhtar for the Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dil Dhadakne Do'. The last time SEL worked with Zoya Akhtar was for the film 'Zindigi Na Milegi Doobara'.

"Zoya and we have worked together previously for two films, and as usual, it was great working with her. So when this project was being planned, she asked us to come on board, we agreed," said Ehsaan Noorani. The album comprises five tracks and it took just a few weeks to complete the album. The title track of the film is crooned by Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra.

"The trend of actors crooning songs in movies is very popular, and producers train the artistes to sing the songs. I was not here when we dubbed Priyanka, but when I heard the final output, it was amazing. The texture of her voice is very beautiful and she is someone who can really sing," said Noorani.

When asked if actors use audio technology to improve the final output, he said that in the recording studio it can help a singer, but only to an extent. "If you cannot sing, then no technology can actually help you become better," he explained.

Although SEL worked on the music for two films last year- ‘2 States' and ‘Kill Dil', only the former enjoyed success. Addressing the question whether or not they are under pressure for the ‘Dil Dhadakne Do' soundtrack, he said, "Rather than people having expectations of you, you should expect to deliver better for yourself. We all aim to get better in life."

Speaking about the tracks from ‘Kill Dil' which were not promoted well enough, Noorani said, "It is disappointing, but after you give all your tracks to the producer there is a commercial aspect that gets involved and the team knows which track will do well and which will not. So there is nothing much you can do."

The musician also revealed that SEL wishes to put out their independent music, but currently their hands are full. They have already created the soundtrack for the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Katti Batti'. They are currently in talks with a few producers for their other upcoming film projects.
