Ed Sheeran to perform in India in 2015

MUMBAI: Two-time BRIT Award winner, Ed Sheeran will make his maiden trip to India next year as a part of his world tour, industry sources have confirmed.

It is speculated that Only Much Louder will bring the Lego house singer to India. Previously, OML has brought other acts to India, including Grammy Award winning Norah Jones as a part of 'A Summer's Day' and David Guetta, as a part of The Invasion Festival. The company is also noted from bringing popular international music artistes like The Vaccines, Mutemath, Goldspot and Luke Sital-Singh to perform at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender.

Although the venue and dates have not been confirmed, industry sources expect Sheeran to perform during spring, between March and April. Sheeran will be using his world tour, called 'X Tour', to promote his latest album, 'X', but whether he will be performing in India as a part of the 'X Tour' is still unknown. His world tour will continue till June 2015, performing in the rest of Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania.

The 'Lego House' singer first rose to fame when he was spotted by Sir Elton John and British football player Rio Ferdinand through his videos on the internet. Since then, Sheeran has released two full length studio albums, both of which have been certified Platinum. His sophomore album 'x' has charted at number one in twelve countries and reached the Top 5 in eleven other countries.

'The A Team' singer is signed under Atlantic Records and will be represented in India by Sony Music India.
