Dr. Dre, Beyonce top Forbes' Highest Paid Musician List of 2014

MUMBAI: Dr. Dre has topped Forbes' Highest Paid Musician List of 2014 as was announced on 11 December. Dre has managed to earn a gross total of $620 million excluding taxes, a feat he achieved this feat without even releasing an album this year. The 49-year old also recently sold his company, Beats Audio to Apple for reportedly $3 billion.

Dr. Dre's earnings give him the widest margin in history between the first and second spots on Forbes' list. Around half a billion dollars separate him from the number two earner, Beyoncé, who has managed to earn a total of $115 million. The multiple Grammy Award winning songstress has had quite a lucrative year due to her ‘Mrs. Carter Show' tour, a surprise album and endorsements with the likes of Pepsi and H&M.

Veteran rock band- The Eagles come third with $100 million because of their 'History Of The Eagles' tour, while Bon Jovi ranks fourth with $82 million and Bruce Springsteen rounds out the top five with $81 million.

Katy Perry ($40 million), Miley Cyrus ($36 million), Lady Gaga ($33 million), Justin Bieber ($80 million) and One Direction ($75 million) are the only acts under age 30 to make the top ten. ‘Shake It Off' singer Taylor Swift finished at No. 11 with $64 million.
