Chris Brown's probation ends in Rihanna case

MUMBAI:  Chris Brown's six-year probation for assaulting his former girlfriend and popstar Rihanna in 2009 has come to a close.

The Los Angeles District Attorney said on Friday that the 25-year-old singer's probation has ended after Judge James Brandlin found that Brown had officially completed his 1,000.5 hours of community service and the probation department concluded there were no violations, reports eonline.com.

Prior to the decision, he took to Twitter in hope of a positive outcome.

Brown's attorney Mark Geragos said, "I couldn't be happier or more proud of CB."

After his Feb 8, 2009 attack on Rihanna, the ‘Forever’ singer was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats. In June 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to a felony and accepted a plea deal of community labour. Over the past few years, Brown has appeared in court multiple times regarding whether or not he violated his probation.

Following the court decision, the singer tweeted, "IM OFF PROBATION!!!!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!!!!"
