Big69 announces Carcass and Sikth as part of full line-up

MUMBAI: Big69, the upcoming heavy metal festival has finally announced its full line-up, and will see a number of international and Indian metal bands perform over two days in January 2015. Among the international names are three UK bands- Carcass, Sikth and Hacktivist, Italian technical death metal band- Fleshgod Apocalypse and Nepali metal band- Underside.

Some of the big Indian metal bands that have been roped in for the festival include Sahil Makhija led outfit- Demonic Resurrection, Undying Inc, Devoid, Zygnema, Kryptos, Providence, Inner Sanctum, Plague Throat, Grammy Winning Effort, Escher’s Knot, Joint Family, Albatross and others. The line-up will also feature the two winning bands from Pepsi MTV Indies’ band hunt, and is yet to be announced.

Big69, which will be held on 17 and 18 January 2015, will have three stages and is scheduled to be held at Richardson & Cruddas in Byculla, Mumbai. The festival is a Bajaao property and is supported by Pepsi MTV Indies. Tickets to the two-day festival are available at Insider.in and are priced between Rs 1500 and 2500.

Ina previous interview, BIG69 Festival Director and Senior Manager at Bajaao.com Himanshu Vaswani told Radioandmusic.com that Big69 is an extension of B69, an underground venue in Andheri, Mumbai that saw performances by numerous metal acts, but unfortunately shut down in 2012. He added that the festival would be an annual event, in order to keep the metal scene in the city alive.
