Avicii's 'Stories' to release on 2 October

MUMBAI: Post the success of ‘True,’ the next awaited album of DJ/producer Avicii called ‘Stories’ is expected to release on 2 October.

The 14-track album will feature singers/songwriters like Alex Ebert, Matisyahu, Wyclef Jean, Zak Abel, Gavin DeGraw, Zac Brown and others who are yet to be announced.

Two tracks ‘For A Better Day’ and ‘Pure Grinding’ were released today (28 August) and available to fans.

The Swedish DJ, whose real name is Tim Bergling, has been working on the album for almost two years. In July, he revealed that he had completed working on his new album, which is now available to pre-order.

The statement issued maintained that through the album Avicii is pushing himself genre-wise and is maintaining his commitment to crafting undeniably catchy melodies and personal themes.

Avicii said, “The album refines what I didn't feel was perfect last time. I think there are more layers to the songs than before, and every song has been written on acoustic guitar, so the structure is different."

He also stated that all the songs will narrate a story. ‘For A Better Day’ was written by the two times Grammy-nominated producer Avicii and Ebert, and is an emotionally uplifting track that promises a better day in the lyrics. ‘Pure Grinding’ is a collision of hip hop, soul and electronic sounds with vocals from Swedish songwriter/producer Kristoffer Fogelmark and U.S.-based Earl St. Clair.

The success of ‘True’ had given birth to 'Stories.'
