Ash King: Artistes become comfortable if they are successful in Bollywood

MUMBAI: Ashutosh Ganguly, aka Ash King, recently crooned a couple of tracks for the album 'Bollywood Unwind'. He has sung two tracks- 'Samne Yeh Kaun Aya' and 'Neele Neele Ambar Par' on the album which features other popular Bollywood names as well.

Talking about the album he said, "Strumm Entertainment came to me with this idea and I totally fell in love with it. The best part was I had a say in the songs that I wanted to sing. I chose these songs because both tracks are extremely close to my heart, and also I am distantly related to Kishore Kumar. I am actually waiting for the video, which should be released sometime this week."

According to him taking up projects like these enhances the creativity of an artiste. "An artiste becomes complacent when he she works for Bollywood as you have a couple of hits and you get booked for stage shows. Then there comes a time when you do not experiment, and often become one dimensional, he said.

Ash hails from London and has very recently shifted to Mumbai. The singer made his Bollywood debut with the film 'Delhi-6', which had music composed by AR Rahman. He also featured on the remix of Lady Gaga's hit track 'Just Dance'. The track was used on the Asian release of the album.

His upcoming projects in Bollywood include a song with Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Meet Brothers and Anjjan. 'Bollywood Unwind' was released on iTunes India in the first week of January, and will be released worldwide on 27 January.
