Arko Pravo Mukherjee: 'Meherbani' was completed in a couple of days

MUMBAI: Arko Pravo Mukherjee who is best known for his music in 'Jism 2', 'Yaariyan' and 'Hate Stories 2' has composed and written a soulful track for the film 'The Shaukeens'.  The soothing number, 'Meherbani' is sung by Jubin Nautiyal.

Talking about the track to Radioandmusic.com, Arko said, "The producers approached me saying that they already have party numbers for the album and now they need a romantic song. 'Meherbani' was one of the first songs that I had given to them, so certainly there was no brief." It just took a couple of days for the singer composer to finish the song.

When asked what his writing process is, he swiftly answered, "It depends. There are times that I finish writing something in one go and sometimes I get stuck in one line and take a couple of days to finish. But 'Meherbani' was completed in one go. We finished the basic recording in a couple of days."

He does not forget to mention about the singer, Jubin Nautiyal. "I called him to sing the song and he recorded it so well that we had to retain his voice. Akshay Kumar had a couple of big singers in his mind for the song, but the moment he heard Jubin he immediately changed his mind."

Talking about Jubin, he said, "Just like me, Jubin is a singer and a composer, so I think I always gel well with the people who juggle their roles."
